Day 1 Arrival at Cochin/ Proceed to Thekkady
When you arrive at Cochin International airport, you will be received by our representative and we will proceed on a 4.5 hour drive to Thekkady .
Thekkady, the 'eastern gateway' to Kerala- God's own country, full of dense green vegetation, heady scents of spices, panoramic view, lakes, evergreen forests, herds of elephants and birds. This thick forest, interspersed with plantations. The wild life come together in perfect harmony to make Thekkady a right destination for nature lovers. Make a trip to Thekkady and have a pleasurable boat ride to the end of natural wilderness. Or, for the most adventurous stint, you can go enjoying day/night forest
Day 2 Sight Seeing in Thekkady
The lake of the Periyar wildlife sanctuary makes an important site to visit in Thekkady. This splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. A wonderful palace located in the heart of the Periyar Lake attracts a lot of visitors. The greatest attraction of Periyar Lake however is the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake. Periyar is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters form the safety of a boat on the lake.
The Periyar Lake attracts grey heron, ibis, the great Malabar hornbill and grey hornbill. The other birds include kingfishers, ospreys and kites as well as orioles, hill mynas, racket tailed drongos, parakeets, including the unusual blue winged parakeet and flycatchers
Day 3 Departure
Morning, after the breakfast checkout from the resort and proceed to Cochin. Places to visit in Kochi include Fort Cochin still keeping alive its ancient Jewish traditions, the Santa Cruz basilica, Mattancherry Palace, St: Francis Church and much more. The Jews Street and Chinese fishing nets are a must see. We will pick you for your trip back home by evening, feeling contended about a wonderful holiday you spent at God’s Own Country like so many of our guests till now. .
